We all need a reminder from time to time about how to love ourselves. It’s incredibly important because the way we treat ourselves is reflected in how others treat us. If you want the best for yourself, you have to give the best to yourself. If you want others to treat you well, you have to show them how, by treating yourself well. Most importantly if you want others to love you, you have to love yourself first.
Here are some ways to love yourself:
1.Spend time with good friends. The ones who are easy and safe to be around. The ones you really love!
2.Try meditation. It’s all about learning how to be still and just observing rather than acting.
3.Read. Remember how good it feels to curl up in bed and get transported to another world with characters that you create in your mind?
4. Trust your intuition. If it’s screaming at you then listen! If it’s telling you to run, then run! You will never go wrong if you follow your gut.
5.Take probiotics. Speaking of your gut, science is proving that gut health can have major positive effects on your entire body from mood to memory and more.
6.Color like a kid. If you have little to no drawing skills how about a coloring book? There are tons to choose from and it really calms the mind.
5.Text or email someone and tell them what they mean to you. Don’t expect a response. Just know you’ve made them very happy.
6.Thank yourself for everything that you do. You are awesome!!
7.Go for a walk. Breathe in fresh air, get sunlight on your face, listen to birds, kids playing, the wind. Feel more alive.
8.Drink water. All day long and notice how much better you feel.
9.Get To Know Yourself. It’s your job to know who you are so you can truly present yourself to others.
10.Try something new. A new recipe, music, podcast, sport, route to work, experience, person.
11.Listen to music. It can change your brain and the way you view the world.
12.Love yourself. As you are right now, not after you’ve lost weight, finished school, are married or become the more perfect you. You are already perfect in your imperfect, human way, which is all we can ever be.
13.Forgive. We may think we need to forgive others but we have to start with forgiving ourselves. The rest falls into place after we do that.
14.Love your body. Love your body as it is right now- imperfections and all. Appreciate how it holds you up and moves you through your life. Thank it for remembering to breathe, sleep, blink, swallow. All the things it does are a miracle.
